Baked Pompano with Cajun Seasoning

Pompano can make any fish recipe taste scrumptious! This kind of fish average only 2 pounds, but they taste so great it is considered one of the most expensive and highly priced fish in the United States.If you are looking for something to cook that tastes fresh, light and simply appetizing, here is one great recipe that is perfect for Pomapano!

Serves 4-6

Ingredients:

  • 4 Pompano fillets (preferably 1/2 pound each)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp Cajun Shake or Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning (You can make your own Cajun seasoning with the recipe below!)
  • 2 pieces lemon

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 F.
  • Spread butter all over the fish. Each tablespoon of butter is intended for a fillet of Pompano.
  • Spice it lightly inside and out with Cajun Shake seasoning.
  • Bake in a low pan for 25 minutes.
  • Squeeze lemon over fillets to add a zest of flavor!

Note:  If you can’t find Cajun Shake or Tony Cachere’s creole seasoning in your local stores, you may make your own Cajun seasoning.

Cajun Seasoning Mix

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

  • Mix all the ingredients together and store in an airtight container.
