Costa Rica has exploded over the past few years as a must-visit tourist destination, especially for those looking for eco-vacation. Undoubtedly, this central American country gave a good reason for that, almost 20% percent of its land is set aside in some form of protected area or national park. Tourists from all around the world are attracted by the possibility to hike at the foot of an active volcano or zip through the jungle on elevated cables. When it comes to fishing, it’s as interesting as the other outdoor activities! Costa Rica welcomes world-record seekers who come here for jumbo Pacific sailfish. Although it wasn’t an easy-to-fish destination about a decade ago, professional anglers have just realized all Guatemala‘s potential! Nowadays you can find a decent accommodation in the angling area around Iztapa, the port city. Thanks to this bubbly man, this remote spot has become one of the easiest places to go fishing! From December through March (even April), Pacific sailfish can be fished with an extraordinary success. Also, this waters host blue marlin. What’s more, you’ll be welcome by English-speaking captains, a fabulous landscape and top-notch lodges.
