Lake Mille Lacs: This 132,518 acres lake is located near town Garrison. It is one of the top fishing lakes in the state for walleye, rock bass, and northern pike. Muskie, smallmouth and largemouth bass and bluegill are also abundant.

Ogechie Lake: It is a 411 acres lake near town Onamia. It is located within the Mille Lacs Kathio State Park. Northern pike and bluegill are the specialty here. Additionally walleye, rock bass and crappie are caught too.

Lake Onamia: This 2,143 acres lake is situated near town Onamia and gives abundant catch of walleye, bluegill, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass and crappie.

Shakopee Lake: This is 676 acres lake situated near Onamia town and gives the fishery of northern pike, bluegill, walleye, smallmouth bass and crappie.

Leech Lake: This huge lake of area 111,528 acres is located near town Walker and is the 3rd largest lake of the state specializing in walleye, muskie and northern pike. It also gives bluegill, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and crappie.

Gull Lake: This is a 9,419 acres lake situated near town Nisswa. Walleye, northern pike and bluegill are its specialties. Additionally, rock bass, largemouth bass and crappie are found too.

Lake Winnibigoshish (Big Winnie): This huge lake of area 58,545 acres is one of the largest lakes in the state and gives some of the best fishing in Minnesota. It is located near town Bena and its specialties are walleye, muskie and northern pike. Also crappie, largemouth and smallmouth bass and bluegill are caught.

Woman Lake: Located near town Longville, this lake has area of 4,783 acres and it gives walleye, northern pike and bluegill especially along with other fishes.

Ten Mile Lake: This 4,668 acre lake is situated near town Hackensack and gives walleye, northern pike and rock bass. So also it gives largemouth bass, bluegill and crappie.

Roosevelt Lake: Located near town Outing, this lake has an area of 1,586 acres and it gives walleye, bluegill and crappie.

There are other many small lakes like Stony, Sylvan, Pike Bay, Birch, Pine Mountain, Ada, Baby, Big Deep, Big Portage, Big Rice, Big Sand, Blackwater, Big Boy, Big Thunder, Child, Crooked, Five Point, and so on. All these give good catches of a variety of fish.

Lake Vemilion: One of the most beautiful lakes in Minnesota with a huge area of 40,558 acres situated near town Tower. It is specialized in the fishery of crappie, walleye and bluegill.

Kabetogama Lake: This too is a huge lake of area 25,762 acres situated near town Kabetogama. Walleye and northern pike are its specialties.

Rainy Lake: This tremendously huge lake has got an area of 220,810 acres and provides world-class fishing specialized in walleye and northern pike. Largemouth and smallmouth bass, muskie, bluegill, sauger, lake trout, crappie and rock bass are also caught in it.

Birch Lake: Located near town Babbitt this lake has an area of 5,629 acres and it is specialized in walleye, crappie and northern pike fishing.

Burntside Lake: Situated near town Ely, this lake has an area of 7,138 acres and it gives walleye, northern pike and rock bass especially.

Namakan Lake: With the area of 25,132 acres this huge lake is situated near town Ray and presents the fishing of crappie, walleye and northern pike.

Pelican Lake: This lake too has big area of 10,946 acres and it is located near town Orr and gives bluegill, northern pike and crappie especially.

The area is located in over 1 million acres within the Superior National Forest in Northern Minnesota and contains over 1,000 lakes. It is a famous destination for both fishing and canoeing in its numerous lakes. It is the most visited wilderness in the country. The great Lake Superior lies to the east of the BWCA.
